Trailers look really funny. I want to see this movie. I honestly haven't been into much that Sandler's done since Wedding Singer, so I'm hoping this will be a refreshing return to the spotlight for him.

Yeah, it looks like about every Hollywood comedy that's been made since Wayne's World. Pick a nationality/sexuality and a profession not normally associated with that choice, and the jokes write themselves. Two straight guys ice skating? A white guy playing basketball? A black little person posing as an undercover baby? An Isreli assassin turned hairdresser? A monkey playing hockey? A aborted child with downs who becomes an astronaut? Who honestly thinks any of those are really great comedy ideas that will stand the test of time? All they are is a stupid, obvious premise and a bunch of gay jokes recycled over and over again. I can't remember the last Rob Schneider film I actually paid for.

It's your choice if you watch these though, there are just as many good movies coming out as there are bad ones. (It used to be skewed more towards good movies though...).

I think it's more of a hormones thing. These films are aimed at teenagers whose idea of a refined sense of humor is guaged by pot references, the sexist abuse of the word "gay" to mean stupid or lame, and Dane Cook. Most of them have never heard of George Carlin. Blazing Saddles is in another dimension compared to this banal tripe, but teenagers have disposable income and love to be seen in public.

I think it's funny that you mention George Carlin. Seems everybody forgets that his two greatest movie accomplishments were a juvenile comedy about incompetent metal fans time travelling, and kevin smith flicks, known for their prominence of dick & fart jokes.

^^^ Yeah, but that's like judging Richard Pryor's comedy by his films, which he often lamented as never coming close to his stand-up. Joe Rogan is also most famous for being the host on Fear Factor, but his comedy is righteous. Dane Cook, on the other hand, is always at the same level no matter what he's doing.
