I'm started the game 45 minutes ago and have maybe held the controller for 5 minutes worth of gameplay.

Yet I'm loving every minute of it.

Rumour is that the game is too big to fit on a single HD DVD, not sure if it's true, but even if it is, that never held back the PSX (e.g. FFVIII).

360 does not use an HD-DVD drive. It's a standard DVD drive.

yea blu ray has better potential but it couldnt take up more than 3 or 4 discs. oh no! CALL THE ZOO!!! you might have to get off your ass to change the cd. what a fucking HASSLE!!! getting off the couch to change cds is so fucking inefficient. we should get robots to do it for us so we can sit around and get fat so we need to strive even further to make everything more efficient.

and your partially right. they did make some hd dvd xboxes however. i got one of those. and its not difficult to upgrade it

Still, blu-ray only has 6 times the capacity of a regular DVD. A pain, but not as bad as playing King's Quest V off 3.5" disks.

bluray technology is so young right now though, and its potential can only grow. think about it, 8 years ago if someone said they would ahve 10 gig re writable dvds to you youd tell them to fuck off. or if they said that they had a terrabyte external harddrive.
blurays potential is amazing and i expect it to expand tenfold in every way.

the initial install itself if 4.6 gigs. the rest of the installs are like 2 gigs a piece. haha. its awesome though. loving the game so far. only dented into first chapter. I love the stealth in this game!

I got the LE version just cuz it was trade 3 get it for free. they weren't lying when they said up to an hour and a half of cutscenes!!!

yeah, thats why investment analysts who follow the gaming sector like the ps3. the way its built it should have a 7-10 year life cycle where as the xbox 360 is already reaching the last few years of its life cycle. however, alot of them are anti xbox because of the recalls and writedowns microsoft had to take on it.

HD-DVD add-on was only for movies, not for games.

I wouldn't say the 360 is on it's last few years. It's definitely peaking at this point but i could see a good 3 years left before a new system needs to show up - especially considering how expensive it is to make games for these systems nowadays. I think the problems with the RRoD is really what's hurting the 360 more than the limitation of the hardware...

This isn't a system seller for me. Enjoyed the Metal gear series but not enough to buy the system.

When the PS3 releases Killzone I'll probably pick one up.

yea, you either love or hate MGS - for me, it has been system seller since the PSX.

I do think shit like hour and a half cutscenes are the epitome of self-indulgent wankery, but it's just done so amazingly and when you finally get to the gameplay it's amazing.

Killzone is meh... if i want another first person shooter, i would have gotten an xbox. Personally, i bought the ps3 more for the bluray and a handful of games (MGS being one of them) more than any sort of perceived bias towards sony or hate against M$. I barely have time for too many extended gaming sessions anymore :-\.

i think thats what sold me on xbox, was its massive adaptability for fps games, which ive always been heavily into. that and forza motorsports is almost the best motorsport simulator as of this far imo. possibly grid but havent played grid yet.
