I'm a huge EA NHL freak, like since '92. NHL 94 is probably the only reason i still have my Sega Genesis sitting around, etc etc.

I feel that since '06 we have been in another "golden era" of NHL games like we had in the mid 90s. i played the shit out of 06, 07 and 08 -- and 09 looks amazing. The big changes are on the defensive side, where the skill stick will come into play for hits as well as poke checks and stick lifts. The last 3 games have been POKE CHECK BUTTON CITY and it gets old really fast.

-JOSTLING IN FRONT OF THE NET (by using the skill stick to 'hit' but having no momentum you can push forwards out of the way)
-REAL DUMP INS AGAIN
-passing accuracy changes based on passing skill, as well as your body position (no more backhand superpass from the goal line to the opposite blueline)
-cpu player seems much more able to block or poke passes near them
-the computer finally plays decent forechecking and defence
-ea has said the game has a lot more loose pucks
-kind of stoked about this "be a player mode"
