Dude, Where's My Country - Michael Moore
phenomenal book, hands down.
"THERE IS no terrorist threat. You need to calm down, relax, listen very carefully, and repeat after me: There is no terrorist threat. There is no terrorist threat! THERE...IS...NO...TERRORIST...THREAT! Feel better? not really, huh? " :hehe: |

yah i read it today. scary book. especially the part where he's writing it from the perspective of himself in 2053, being intervied by his grandaughter. its all entirely plausible.
i feel sorry for the americans living under that guy. it scared me that paul martin is going to try to get on america's good side again. it also scared me that he's had by far the most contributions to a canadian political campaign by far to date. makes you wonder who's debt he's in now, and what he's going to have to do to get out of it.... politicians sell there souls to get where they are....99% anyway. |

michael moore is too Bias for me to handle
he just looks for the negatives in everything about his country takes everything out of context to suit his opinion if it were someone in the government doing the same thing but for the opposite cause, everyone would consider it as propaganda |

Go and read The Vanishing Country - Is It Too Late To Save Canada by Mel Hurting.
Go and read this book before you worry about the United States. Lets worry about our own country. No other g7 country would allow so many companies to be taken over by foreigners. Yet a large percentage of Canadian companies are even owned by Canadians. `t1m Last edited by dj4mula; Dec 03, 03 at 01:50 AM. |

Michael Moore takes things a little far in certain areas, but more than adequately describes the situation and creates a connect the dots picture that even the simplest of us peasant-folk can understand. That is his gift. and Ryan (blunted) is totally right, everything is to be taken with a bit of salt. Everyone is entitlted to an oppinion wich shouldn't be made more/less significant by the controlled, borderline fascist society we live in today. If not for the style and format this book is an awesome read for the questions it raises and, most importantly, the dare-to-question thinking it inspires. |
