BLOOD: the last vampire
DVD MANGA. lethally beautiful.
the movie was disappointingly short. i was expecting a full length movie. however, i've been told there is a full series yet to be released around here... the movie is set in japan just before the vietnam war. sometime around 1966 i guess... and the main character, saya, whose voice was strikingly familiar to me. i found out i was right, it was this japanese chick that was in snow falling on cedars (she played hastue)... she has a nice voice when she's not angry... she's pretty much this agro teenage girl working as a demon slayer. she is apparently the last vampire. basically, she hunts down these demons, and kills them. pretty simple plot. beautiful animation. the dialogue was lacking. there wasn't much story to it. and once again, it was really short. 45 minutes maybe. so it wasn't thee greatest movie, especially after hearing so much about it. i was disappointed... but the darkness to the movie made up for it a little bit... i'd give it a 3 out of 5... i hope more episodes come out soon... on the bright side, i only paid $20 for the dvd... ehehe... it's $28 everywhere, but EB is matching future shops prices, so i got the movie for $20... SCORE! |
