I'm with Paroxysm on this one
Nintendo fell off.
I hope they fall into a downward spiral and never recover. Consider all the people (mostly gamers) they have lost because of all the poor releases and broken promises. I bought the system for 1 reason.....Goldeneye. The next game that was supposed to kick ass was Perfect Dark. That game was such a let down. Turok2,WWF, DukeNukem and few racing games were ok but they failed to release any games for the mature gamer and quite frankly I gave up on them a long time ago. Now they have decided to come out with a new system and try to compete with Sony and Microsoft. The only problem is it lacks in all the areas when compared to a PS2 or Xbox spec-wise. Microsoft has unlimited funding and no licensing fee's. Sony charges fee's for each release but has such a huge market it can still maintain the interest of bulk selling. From a developers point of view the Xbox seem like a better path because of the no-fee policy. I myself will never buy a Nintendo again. The expansion pack was joke and the titles were even worst. Not to mention the shitty controllers you had to replace every 6 months. As of now I play all my games on PC. The games are so much better and they are MULTIPLAYER. There are only so many times you can play multiplayer titles and respect the screen watch feature. Burn in hell Nintendo You Sellouts!... :snyx: ~fORM |

i disagree.
the xbox is a glorified pc. don't let the HALF A BILLION DOLLAR AD CAMPAIGN fool you. it is standard pc hardware running on a windows kernel, all the graphics driven by directx. already pushed back a week, the xbox is heavily rumored to have motherboard defects. expect the week hold they just put on the box to be extended a month or even further. nintendo can only stand up to the hype by releasing thier box just as early, which is unfortunate. but, other than the lack of games shipping upon release, the gamecube is very top notch. nintendo, love them or hate them, always makes interesting and captivating games (mario line, the * wars line, metroid, mother, RARE games... etc). nintendo and sega are the undesputed masters of making incredibly addictive in house games consistantly, unfortunately microsoft's only huge hit so far with gamers has been the age of empires series, which hardly broke any new ground the way, say, Super Monkey Ball (!@#!&*@#!&@&#^^*!@#) will. the buzz at the last e3 was that ulthough microsoft has more licencees and the Rock launching thier system, they really have nothing original or fun at launch that hasnt been seen on the ps2 or pc before. no one was really all that impressed with the xbox. i dunno, i don't buy into the hype. hopefully sony or nintendo pulls through. nintendo having sega on board greatly helps thier chances of becoming my choice. hopefully the gamecube doesn't turn into the neo geo, possibly the best system of the 90s, but buried in hype. ramble ramble, just give me good games. r. |

Good argument
r.
I will definitely agree with you on the diversity of the Nintendo legacy but disagree that I've been led by hype. I've done most of my own research and I would gladly spend a bit more money on a system that has better components. Nintendo games are carefully designed and are definitely original. I have been a gamer since the Atari era and have closely followed all the advancements. I was hooked on the Zelda series and enjoyed all the Nintendo stand-ups along the way. I must say Nintendo was there for me when I was growing up. The problem I found with the 64 was it is far too kiddie. The games are mostly cartoon based and lack a lot of scenic detail. I wandered into games like Resident Evil, Samurai Showdown, Mortal Kombat, Unreal Tournament, Counter-strike and Max Payne. These games are exactly what I’m looking for. Most of them are released on PC/Mac and that's why I'm finding it hard to jump back into the console gaming world. As you know pc's will continue to get faster and are always upgradeable. Consoles are not. The clarity on a cpu monitor is far better than most affordable 27" tv’s. Right now I'm very interested to see what major companies will jump on board and start producing titles for the xbox. I have to admit that I’m not overly impressed with any of the new titles for xbox. The only titles that grab my attention so far are Unreal Tournament Championship, Halo, Dead or Alive 3 and New Legends. But as any system goes, the system is only as good as it's games. I'm just glad too see another heavy weight step into the ring. It's going to be an interesting battle.... just a question cuz im feelin' argumenative...
did you put the gamecube 'no dvd' thing in bold for a reason? i think that was thier smartest move in my opinion. the dvd playback of consoles is lacklustre due to budget constraints, and can only add to the final price. id wager a good chunk of the 100 price difference between gc and xbox is the dvd compatibility, coupled with the nic they have to put into every xbox to make it broadband. and now the sidenotes: sidenote 1: shipped standard broadband microsoft unpatchable systems directly wired to the internet? ack ack ack ack ack!$% danger! danger! sidenote 2: never buy a gaming machine made in mexico. sidenote 3: ninrtendo systems were never my bag, ive only evber owned a gameboy and a game boy advance. but i feel ive missed the ps2 bandwagon and ms 300 pound gorilla scares the bejeesus out of me. sidenote 4: everything were arguing is baseless opinion and we look like fanboys. doh. sidenote 5: ill go where square goes. sidenote 6: xbox = x86 computer with directx6+geoforce = emulation before the year is out! r. |

LoL
Again some good points...
I guess I put that in bold because I like remotes and staying on the couch as much as possible during a movie...=) The remote is actually an additional piece you have to buy that uses an infrared receiver( in one of the game ports I imagine). Instead of buying a fancy DVD player why not get 2 things for the price of one? Sn1. I really hope they get that right. It could cause some mass headaches Sn2. VW's are partially built/assembled in Mexico too. We took apart my roomies vr6 only to find all the parts saying "made in Mexico". Seems to drive ok. Sn3. My last official system was N64...and it's dusty. Sn4. The true test will come when I rent both of them and test the snot out of them =). Sn5. Are you referring to square soft? Sn6. Believable. |

i find i only play games that ae MULTIPLAYER
and if i do play a console it is more than 2 player cause playing the same person over and over seems pointless to me thats why i play online games to show how good i am world wide and to laugh at the jackasses that try to kill me and cant! I KICK YO ASS BIATCH i scream into the microphone (new adon to CS) Lex and Booey watch me plus if i do play an RPG on a console its because im bored of my friends lol no its never gonna happen or its to fill an empty void in my life where i want to leave reality and go into the little fantasy world they create SCREW CONSOLES!!! plus you need a wicked TV (wich i have) (a 32 inch JVC) no gayass Projection (sorry guys it looks best at ALL angles) but 400-700 $ everytime a console launches every 1-5 years is hefty on my wallet which is almost empty other than the 45$ i have left to save for somthing blah blah blah sorry guys tired Nighty night peace |
