Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
Ok so I'm biased. Very biased. I've loved every movie Charlie Kaufman has ever written. I thought "Being John Malchovitch" was hilarious and original. "Human Nature" was the first film that really investigate the human relationship with nature itself. "Adaptation" should have won Nicolas Cage an academy award, and "Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind" showcased the Gong Show in a way I didn't think possible.
So I see his new film, and it is outstanding. It's one of the most beautiful pictures I've seen all year. The pacing and construction of the film is brilliant, as most of it takes place inside Jim Carrey's head. The cast pulls off their rolls flawlessly, and even Frodo Baggins himself couldn't tarnish the picture with his terrible acting abilities. do watch |

I agree fully. i wrote a thread on this when it first came out that didn't really catch on. maybe this one will. more people should go and see this film and the many other films that Kaufman has written. he's such a brilliant guy.

haha. that was so fuckin' creepy. them dancing and like using his inanimate body to hold their drinks and an ashtray and shit. i was like 'no! so many personal violations!'
that's like in Kill Bill volume 1...with the coma and the bad doctor and the tub of old vaseline....if you've seen it you know what i'm talking about. yuck! |
|

remember? that guy comes in and the doctor gives him this tub of old vaseline because he says 'sometimes the old bitch's cunt is dry'..and it's like old and dirty vaseline. *shudder* nightmares, right there.
moral: don't ever go into a coma kids. |

^ he's talking about kill bill 2 , not eternal sunshine stringbeans, if you're getting confused :)
in any case that was disgusting, you couldn't have missed it in kill bill 2. Quentin even adds the signature touch with little hairs all over the vaseline. |

^i agree. i need to watch it again too. i saw it when it first came out...i've been waiting like a year for it. it didn't let me down at all. still playing all over the place too, perhaps i'll have time to catch it in theatres again.
i saw it at fifth avenue, when it was playing nowhere else. felt like my own private movie. |
