The Terminal
Okay, so i originally had set out with my friend to see this movie at 7pm at Fifth Avenue theatres. we plan our whole day around it and when we show up like fifteen minutes to seven, the lady is like, "i'm sorry that movie isn't playing today at that time because we have a prescreening for The Terminal going on in that theatre"
so we were kinda pissed because we couldn't make it to any other movies and didn't want to wait two hours to see the later show. so we went up to the manager and told her that we had come all the way from white rock to see that movie, so the manager told us to just go into the prescreening. so yeah, got to see a movie for free a couple days before it's release. THE MOVIE: wow, disapointing film from Stephen Spielberg. It's okay i mean, but it's completely ridciulous and you have to suspend your belief too many times for the movie and the characters to make sense. it's still an entertaining movie though and Tom Hanks is really realy good in it. but yeah, some of the stuff that happens in it, you just have to roll your eyes and say puuuuleeeze. |

not to say your wrong, but spielburg and hanks don't team up for flicks if they think they won't be very good. he is one of the most historic directors of all not, plus I don't have to say much for tom hanks.. they just wouldnt do a movie if it was going to be unbelievable. however, hanks did just do Ladykillers so I donno.. |

i wish i could tell myself that the point of the movie was for it to be unbelievable. but seriously stephen let us down this time. tom hanks didn't: his acting is flawless. but the movie is pretty cheesy and follows the formula that is set out for these types of movies, except for one thing at the end. |

yeah there are parts that are believable...but i found a lot of it was just too insane.
yeah i read that too! it's weird because nowhere on the promos do they say 'inspired by a true story' or anything. but yeah Catherine Zeta Jones? what the fuck! honestly...what did her character add to this movie except a shoddy written love plot? not very good acting either..yuck, go home! |

what does anyone else think of this movie? maybe me and my friend lauren are the only people that didn't like it that much because the critics are giving it good reviews. not that i ever really trusted the critics before. i think they are blinded by the fact that spielburg directed and tom hanks starred in it. oohhh....then it CAN'T be bad. pffttt...whatever.

my bf took me to see this, and i loved it. It's one of those movies where you shouldn't have to THINK so hard about, and if you analyze the movie too much then you won't be able to enjoy it for what it is. I don't think that it's one of those movies worth being so critical about, even if it were "steven spielberg" or "tom hanks". Many people like to just sit back and enjoy a refreshing movie from time to time that doesn't require too much thinking, and this was exactly it.

yeah what about ET and jurassic park im sure those were two entirely beleivable films. and btw, this film is based on a true storey about a man who was in a similar situation and lived in the international terminal at charles degaulle airport. |
