your all time favourite DIRECTOR
so, who is the director that always catches you attention. who's movies will you always go and see, just because it's that director?
Tim Burton is my all time favourite director. he has such a dark and twisted style, but it still manages to keep a warm feeling and add quirky comedy. some of his films: Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorhands, Batman, Batman Returns, Big Fish, Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Mars Attacks, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Planet of the Apes (re-make) and he's also doing the re-make of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. runners up: David Fincher (Fight Club, Panic Room, The Game) Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs) Stanley Kubrick (Clockwork Orange, Space Oddysey 2001, TheShining) Roger Avery (Rules of Attraction, American Psycho...i think) Gus Van Sant (Elephant, Good Will Hunting) Danny Boyle (28 Days Later, The Beach, Trainspotting) and i'll also go see any movie written by Charlie Kaufman and Alex Garland. Tim Burton is my favorite too! I'm seriously in awe of the magic in all of his movies. Other honorable burton mentions: Beetlejuice, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, James & The Giant Peach...
I'd also say Martin Scorsese as well! Taxi Driver & Casino are some of my favorite movies. He's got this way of putting these raw, ugly things into movies, but not just putting it there for shock value. You're never like 'well that was unnecessary!' |

yeah he adds a lot of magical elements into his films, but they're usually filmed in all dark and dreary and twisted-like...i loooove that. :) |

Favorite?
Dont think I can do that, but I can barf out a few favorites (plural). -Cohen brothers are definitely up there -Don Mckellar (okay, so he's only directed one feature, but he's also a brilliant writer) -Stanley Kubrick (I mean, come on!) -and last bot definitely not least David Cronenberg (yes, some of his newer moves like Crash totally Le Suck. But we don't judge a goalie by one game do we?) [edit] oh shit, how did I forget tim burton?! |

he always seems to bring out the good and quirky side of Bill Murray to it's fullest extent. |
