wes anderson doesn't seem the type to use CGI, even if it is just fish and weird lizards. he always manages to make the most mundane things quirky and strange, without using computers to help him. |

Well, I think the saving grace will be that Anderson is a killer writer and director and his cast looks brilliant ('Thanks a lot, thanks for not picking me!' - aaaah, willem) .... so, even some CG shouldnt ruin the film. And hell, maybe he's got some wierd plan that will make it work. My complaint is more of a genereal 'why are they ruining ALL movies like this' kind of a one. |

i agree with you somewhat.
i don't think CGI is ruining ALL movies, so much as movies where they do a half-assed job and it doesn't fit in with the movie. in my opinion, when CGI is done right and fits with the movie, it can really add a lot to it and allows filmmakers to go places they couldn't have gone before. besides there is a ton of CGI out there in movies that you don't even notice. They used a lot of CGI in the movie castaway to add trees and fix the shoreline during the movie. things like that blend in so well that you can't even tell CGI was used. but yes, when it's done badly, it's done really really badly. |
