Transformers (The Movie)

Ok so there's lots of cheesy 80's rock, like Van Halen and such. Now I'm a straight male, but when Optimus Prime challenges Megatron and they fight it out to the death. Dude that's fu**ing hawt! And When Galvatron comes back to take out his vengeance against Starscream, dude ROCK ON!!! Kick his pussy ass!!

And something I never noticed until about the 8th time I saw the movie: When the moon base 2 gets eaten by Unicron(which sounds like a Unicorn with Down's Syndrom) and Spike says "Oh shit! What are we gonna do?" Dude that is the first time a children's cartoon said the word "Shit". Now about a decade later, some channels(not all) are alowing the word "shit" on some shows/episodes, but the transformers dudes were way ahead of thier times.

I can't wait until they start using the term "Douche-Bag" as a common term on Sesame Street, that would fucking rule!

So I guess what I'm saying is: There are NO GOOD CARTOONS on TV nowadays! The new "Transformers, X-Men and He-Man cartoons totally blow! No offence to anyone but when Optimus Prime and He-Man are ninjas and some how learned the art of ninjitsu as a side project to saving the world, and all thier enemies happen to know martial arts and use "Pokemon" like attacks, I get a little confused.

Dammit, why wasn't I born a Japanese man?

P.S. This is my drunken retard-rant for the night, so don't get too pissy with me!

Mmm... No, I have to disagree there. Best 80's cartoon, yes. But not the best cartoon of all time.

For that, look no further than the Warner Bros. studio from 1938-1968. ;)

agreed not the best cartoon of all time, but easily one of the best of all time and best of the mid 80's - the movie kicks ass, we use to watch it on my floor in residence - everyone loves this shit, how could you not?

No good new cartoons? What are you talking about? Some of the best shows on TV right now are cartoons!

Simpsons
Family Guy
Futurama
Invader Zim
Venture Bros
Drawn Together
Sealab 2021
Clone High
Undergrads
Mission Hill
Downtown

Just to name a few. I'm finding more all the time.

the day mum cleaned the garage and got rid of all my transformers/ghostbusters/ninjaturtles action figures was indeed a sad day to be remembered.

....

Just to name a few. I'm finding more all the time.
Simpsons -has been losing popularity steadily over the past few seasons (just ask Fox)
Family Guy -cancelled, and now FINALLY coming back on the air after 3 years
Futurama -cancelled after what? 2 seasons?
Clone High -cancelled after 1 season
Undergrads -cancelled after THIRTEEN episodes (and despite a massive online protest)

As you can see alot of these shows (except the Simpsons) don't last very long. Transformers lasted what 1985-1989? Then it was re-launched as generation 2 cuz kids still couldn't get enough of it. The point is, this show has endured for almost 20 years, spawning a long line of merchandise and very cool toys, not to mention the ever popular comic series. And now with a live-action movie in production aswell, it just goes to show you that Transformers really was the defining cartoon in our lives :p
