I highly recomend another movie by the same director called "Delicatessen". Freaking brilliant!! It's pretty ridiculously twisted and maybe not for the really squeamish...it's about post-war france and this apartement building with a delicatessen on the lower floor. Of course, everyone is poor and has nothing to eat sooooo....sometimes the new tenants dissapear mysteriously in the night *cough* ...hmmmm...yah, and there's an underground rebel group of vegetarians that live in the sewers. One of the new tenents falls in love with the Butcher's daughter and, predictably, madness and many escapades ensue. This movie is darkly hilarious and just awesome. haha! Highly recommended!!!
