House of flying daggers

just watched this movie last night. WICKEDLY beautiful at some parts.
retardedly annoying (and yet still appropriate) ending.
definitely something i'm going to have to buy. (and i never buy movie's)

Daggers was good, but some of the story was weak. and the ending was bunk i thought.

also: why are all the love scenes in these movies so wooden. when they kiss it's like they just pucker their lips and mash their face against one another with some groans thrown in for good measure.

but seriously though! in house of flying daggers and hero (but not as much) the love scenes are pretty terrible. i thought maybe chinese laws regarding sex in movies is different? i dunno.

that is how love and affection is portraited in chinese period films.
that's how it should be.
it would be considered rude and unsightly if they went at it hot and heavy.

Visually, it was an amazing movie. I saw it a few times in the theatre just because beautiful movies like that deserve to be seen on the big screen :)

from a western point of view,
i know what u mean. however,
the act of love in anicent china
is about duty and all things noble.
affection do not go beyond close caress.
open mouth kissing was considered unclean and unsightly.
the love scenes portrayed in those
chinese period films are correct.
but maybe ur right. maybe the actors coulda been less wooden.
