The same way y0ou did in the old one, go to the buy option and click on it and you should be able to move it or press delete to get rid of it.

Realli? U should be able to pick up the object and move to any FREE space in the room. Unless u have too much furniture in the room, u should be able to move it by left clicking it and dragging the object. I have all the extension packs for Sims 2 ........but i never have any time to play them :(
