I hope for Nintendos sake that they bring out a normal controller as well for revolution otherwise they will probly lose alot of customers. Innovative stuff though.

gotta give'm credit for innovating.

i'm not saying it's a guaranteed seller, but i'll take anything over the normal controller for a fps.

my thought is the next Zelda is going to rock on that thing. Knowing most game developers, the only company that's going to know how to make games properly for that thing is going to be Nintendo themselves (see the Dual Screen).

here's another article:

It comes with one.

But I like that thing... got a gyroscopic thing inside so it judges hand movements. Grip it like a sword, swing it around and whatnot.

Fuck. One step closer to VR. They're working on it.

See, this is the way that I see it. Sony and Nintendo, these guys are innovators. They've pushed the bounds of home consoles before, and completely wiped out competition because of it (Nintendo wiped out Atari, Sony's wiped out Sega). The way I see it, they're all letting Microsoft go first. And because Microsoft is all hurried to be the first one out, a year later they're going to put out systems that are just going to outright cream them. Simply because they have outward thinking, instead of just coming out with the same-old-thing with better graphics.

That's why Microsoft can't compete. They're far too reactionary a company to compete with game tech. Remember when Halo 2 came out? Remember when Half-Life 2 came out a couple months later and totally blew it out of the water?

Yeah. Go Nintendo for pushing the gaming level up a notch. Can't wait to see what Sony does.

^ I wouldn't say Nintendo wiped out Atari. Atari pretty much wiped themselves out during the videogame crash of 84 and Nintendo just happened to be there in 85 to pick up the pieces of a dead industry and revived it.

Yeah. Go Nintendo for pushing the gaming level up a notch. Can't wait to see what Sony does.

halo 2 and half-life 2 are vastly different games for different niches/systems. one is a computer fps and one is a console fps, their sales dont really overlap as much as you contend. halo 2 is an incredibly popular online game, which in the last hour had 315,916 unique players playing, which is pretty incredible. both of these games are blockbusters.

xbox was pretty innovative in a lot of ways, it basically pioneered easily accessable, fun, unified online gaming for consoles. xbox live is incredible. microsoft also pioneered a way for console games to have added content delivered to them over the internet. old games get new levels and fresher skins, or new playmodes.

sony is about publisher deals. i wouldn't say any of their hardware past the original playstation has been anything special. what has mattered is things like the final fantasy series and grand theft auto getting exclusive releases. while im interested in the ps3, i take their hype with a grain of salt, as the ps2 had hype of being like the final fantasy movie rendered in real time.

in closing, the xbox found its niche and became very popular in it, i cant remember the last time i fired up my ps2, i basically only play my xbox and gamecube now. i would content that if the xbox had a sane liscencing agreement and xbox live from the start, it would be the most popular console today.

nintendo just makes fun games and hardware. god bless them.

I have a good feeling that the new controller will make for a really fun/interesting gaming experience. The possibilities are amazing.

I cant wait till the Nintendo Revolution gets released. That company really brings the goods when it comes to video games. Ive been happily loyal to their products since the days of the NES !

Considering the Revolution will be backwards compatible all the way back to NES. Word has it that they releasing versions of all the old controller styles!

I can't wait to try this thing out. If you go on IGN there is a breakdown of how the controller would work with every type of game out there.
