You got good picks miss.sci-fi-ction! I completely forgot about The Dark Crystal! It is definately on my list too, the dvd is so fantastic, it gots a great documentary style on the building of the puppets, characters, and setting. Definately the best dvd I've ever watched.:)

When I was a kid I used to be scared of the dragon-like dog! I used to hide under the covers or go play somewhere else till the dog-like dragon left. It ruined the entire film for me.

i dunno if they flew around in hula hoops but i know i saw the movie a couple times when i was a kid ... wasn't it in 3d or something ? there was something different about it cuz they played it somewhere cool downtown like imax or something i dunno ... i can't remember that far back...
