As I have already posted... (search threads people)
Base on a true story... Sort of. From director Tony Scott and inspired by a real-life story, Keira Knightley stars as Domino Harvey, who rejected her privileged Beverly Hills lifestyle as the daughter of a famous actor (Lawrence Harvey) and a Ford agency model to become a bounty hunter in pursuit of society's nastiest criminals. The film features a diverse supporting cast including Lucy Liu, Christopher Walken, Mena Suvari, Mickey Rourke, Jacqueline Bisset and Delroy Lindo. However much or how ever little of the content of this film was based on the true story, I'd personally like to know. Probably not much, but that doesn't change my opinion any. I wasn't really expecting much going into the theatre; all the reviews I read were rather ugly and talked down about the film in general. However, once the story got started the two hour run time passed all too quickly. First off: I have to give major props to Keira for her role as Domino. It was such a polar opposite character from those she normally does and that there might be a chance she'd do poorly... Which is why I thought the movie might suck. Wrong again. Knightley plays hard against her wispy damsel image from Pirates of the Caribbean. She blows smoke and fires insulting lesbian advances at the FBI criminal psychologist (Liu) whose interview with Domino frames the film. The plot was fast paced, quite clever, action packed, involved lap dances, Jerry Springer, hard drugs AND guns; (everything a guy movie SHOULD have right?) and yet a down-played bitter sweet love element to hug at the heart strings a tad. I noticed a lot of the cinematography appeared as if it had been over-saturated in post production. I found this to give the picture a very artistic appearance while still being increasingly violent. The usage of something like 30 frames per second to make the mescaline scene real was BRILLIANT. Although, some critics ripped apart how Tony Scott used quick cuts and super close-ups to capture the subjects as they speak. I quite liked it. It made me feel like I was Domino, a lost little girl. Although I did find my attention span slipping as Domino philosophized about life in voice-over in numerous scenes. I had a love/hate relationship with how the film's little episodes were subtitled with names like "I am bored", so that those audience members with IQs under 50 could still follow the action. Some of the titles were so witty, some just flat out sucked. All in all, I throughly enjoyed this movie despite my having to run to the bathroom with 10 minutes left. It was one of those movies that you want to research and learn about the actual story... Because the end left so many questions unanswered. Go see this one in the theatre. Worth every cent. I LOVE THIS MOVIE. It's true she is fucking hot and I lov the cinematography in it, they used it well to tell the story of Domino. She kicks so much ass and I love that one scene where she's stuck witha gun to her head and totally give the black guy a lap dance, she's hard core!

I heard really bad reviews on this movie, which made me not really want to see it.. however, I finally did and it's AWESOME. Keira Knightly is super hot.. she does look like Natalie Portman (or so I think), I get the two of them mixed up a lot... anyways, definitely recommend it.

Interesting characters & story, Keira is hot & Mickey Rourke makes a good tough guy, I like this movie enough that I have my own copy BUT THEY BLEW IT and this movie has major flaws.
The first half of the movie is good but a little too fast paced and confusing for most people, especially if you know nothing of the story behind the people in the movie. The Domino character was a real person, just check out her bio before seeing the movie and you'll understand a lot better. Too many secondary characters & sub-plots involving mobsters, poor people, Jerry Singer, TV crew, etc. The main problem in the movie is this: They go through the first half establishing that the main characters (the bounty hunter team) are OK and smart independent-minded people that you like, although they are tough. The audience likes and identifies with the main characters, this is essential for any movie of this type. So what happens to blow that all away? Domino gets a garbled cell phone call and mistakingly thinks the bondsman guy tells her to have their prisoner's ARM CUT OFF! And that's just what they do. We have been lead up to that point to see that she & the others do not take orders very well, especially stupid orders, because we've been shown that she & the others are smart independent-thinking, slightly shady, but basically decent people. The order to cut off a defenceless person's arm is obviously a stupid cruel thing to do, yet instead of questioning this, they go ahead and immediately shoot off the poor guy's arm. So they're showing now that they are obedient, stupid, and cruel or callous people. This is inconsistent with what we've been shown and the audience at this point is confused & can no longer identify with the bounty hunter team since they've been shown to be a bunch of a-holes and that's where the movie falls apart. Check out Tony Scott's previous movie Man On Fire & you'll see it has almost exactly the same look, some of the actors are the same too. But that movie worked a lot better (except no Keira type, just a bunch of guys and how much fun is that). Too bad, Domino could have been a great action movie. Still worth watching.
