That part being a little off is pretty much a given. My only beef with the translation was that many of Duke's great internal monologues were cut out.

The book came out before the movie, not the other way around.

I liked the book, but not as much as I liked the movie. And the fight club author (with the hard to spell last name) might even agree with that assesment. He was very impressed with David Fincher's adaptation of his work, to the point where he basically said the director had elevated things to a higher level.

My fave line they cut out from the book was "don't judge a taco by its price." They cut the whole taco stand transcription.

Whoa whoa whoa. Bite your fucking tounge! Jackie Brown was so bad that I basically assumed Quentin Tarantino's career was at an end, until the emergence of Kill Bill some 4-5 years later.

I went with 6 other people and we all left the theater demanding our 2+ hours back.

And NONE of us were compensated!
