I have played for most of the major production companies in Vancouver. Also, countless performances all over BC and Alberta in the last 9 years. Still hoping to play in Toronto someday, I've heard great things about that city and their scene. Oh, and Shambhala too! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Years spinning the decks: Over 10 years - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What originally hooked you into the DJing scene? When I was in high school, a buddy and I started djing group dance events. We quickly split up the company's assets... he kept the lighting gear while I kept the decks and the mixer. The rest is history. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What type of music do you specialise in? Breakbeats, Speed Garage - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Most expensive vinyl that you have paid for? - how much was it? $25. DJ Icey - "Take The Time" (white label, only 300 copies worldwide) One of my favorite Icey tracks, but it never got a proper release. I rarely play it out these days, but I listen to it at home alot. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Have you got any funny/horrific DJing stories? Ask the local Vancouver/Victoria DJs for these. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What do you like the most about DJing? Getting paid to do what I love. I've been at this for 11+ years now, and only on a few occasions has it actually felt like a "job". - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What does your DJ name signify? I think it's pretty self-explanatory. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Who are your influences /or shoutouts? If I could mold myself after 1 existing artist, it would have to be Q from Uberzone. His production skills amaze me, and he is one of the classiest artists I've met in this industry. An all around great guy, and his partner Davey D rocks too. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Feel free to add any additonal information about yourself I've been hooked on Canada since my first performance up there many many years ago (does anyone remember Pacify!!!???). All my Canadian homies know about my addiction to your country and they claim that I am half-Canadian, but am in denial about it. I keep telling them that I can't be cause I DON'T LIKE HOCKEY!!! But yeah, so many great trips up North - can't wait til the next "gong show" (as Canadians would say it). Thanks for all the support!!! Doug (DJ Dig-Dug) "keep givin er!" ha ha ha!!!
