I've always had a passion for music, and a musical background to boot. I went to my first party and thought that it would be a lot more fun if I was up there, being the one making people dance. I love rocking out up there and getting into the music, its something I live for. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What type of music do you specialise in? Drum and Bass stole my soul quite some time ago. I'm a breaks girl by heart, but drum and bass is what gets me going. I love the NueroFunk and Tech sounds. And I can totally get down so some darker liquid rollers. Mostly I'll bring it hard and dirty ;) I'm all over the board with Breaks, anything with a broken beat I can get down to. I LOVE the grimy sound of nu-skool, I can dig some funk, and some progressive can really get me going sometimes. Some wicked bangin' electro house will set if off just right. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Most expensive vinyl that you have paid for? - how much was it? I haven't really paid that much for vinyl, typically the standard amount. I am really good at finding deals I guess. But if I would have to guess, probably $20. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What is your most treasured record and why? I have a few, but the one that popped to the top of my head is Hybrid - Burnin' :: its a killer track and the salt'n'peppa vocal sample gets the point across I managed to snag that one for $5 (0.0)!!! Getting stuck in a side room with two numark TT-100s (the probably were belt driven, who knows, they had NO torque)and they came up only to mid thigh, NO monitor, a crappy numark mixer and a blown speaker. It was an amazing night, let me tell you. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What do you like the most about DJing? I love seeing people dance and have a good time, I have the best time playing and rocking out behind the decks. I know how amazing it feels to just dance and forget everything else and be in the present moment, and its great that I'm able to create that release for other people & myself. Nerdy I know. Nyx is Greek for Mischevious Night Nymph/Goddess, I feel like it has me pegged pretty well.
