I just thought I would let you know that to have the "Status" of a DJ, you don't need to play your music through turntables or CDJs. DJs play music for other people in their own way. The medium they use has no relevance whatsoever. But I guess in your case it would be relevant to the "coolness" factor.

You’re absolutely correct, everyone CAN be a DJ! If you think about it, it's really not that hard. You play music for other people via turntables, CDJs, or computers. Some types of DJs don’t need to beatmatch at all, while others do (i.e club environment). Now I realize there are differences between club DJs, local DJs, school dance hall DJs, and wedding DJs. But when it comes down to being a DJ, all your doing is playing music to others. That’s not to say that you’re amazing at it, or know how to build a set properly, but your stilling doing IT.

I think it's funny sometimes how people seem to think DJing is a seriously hard task and only select few know how to do it.
