DJ Drafted (Tyson Pekarek), co-founder of Soundgirls, and long time member of Future Roots (An international collective of artists dedicated to furthing the drum n bass scene). Drafted was born with an infinity for drum and bass music. In 2001, he became involved in hip-hop culture within Vancouver, and organized several breakdancing competitions, which eventually led him into the rave scene. Starting his own production company "Black Crack Entertainment", based out of Edmonton, Alberta, he began his venture into the Drum and Bass scene. Black Crack Entertainment’s focus was showcasing talent based out of Edmonton and headliners from his hometown of Vancouver, BC. After relocating himself back to the west coast, his career began to soar. Playing alongside international talent such as Shy Fx, Skibadee, John.B, Sub-Focus, Shimon, Capital J, Chase and Status, Reid Speed, Freaky Flow, Psidream, TZA, Slip N Slide, Demolition Man, and local heroes such as Slim Pickins, Pete Flex, Krusha, and Pacific, just to name a few. Drafted has proven himself to be one Vancouver’s floor running Dj’s, with unique and abstract mixes he continues to set off any dance floor he leads. Two short years later, after holding down a residence and aiding in promoting the successful and long-running "Extra Strength Saturdays" @ Die Maschine... nowadays Miss SWatT plays many local & out of city / province events and club-nights, whipping Canada's dance-floors into dripping masses... as well as playing feature sets on local university radio station 101.5 UMFM "Bassline Dropouts" (Saturdays nights from 7-9:30 CST) local Bassdrive.com show "Rinseout Radio" (also Saturdays from 7-?? CST) - Darlene feels quite secure in her place as one of the proud (and few) female DJs in Winnipeg, MB.
