Tonight on Art Of Beatz Radio: Hataken and Gunshae Live!
Tonight!
Hour 1: Hataken live! Hataken is an improvisational musician, composer, and DJ from Japan. As an electronica artist he has collaborated with musicians across a broad range of styles and has released albums as and with Hataken, Depth, Jiyuujidai, Ken Machines, Sevda, and more. Since 2003 Hataken has only used analogue synthesizers and sequencing techniques. He finds it a much more fresh and inspiring way to make music that is both hands-on in technique and improvisational in nature. Real analogue synthesizer components have a raw and random nature compared to the cold control and generically consistent nature of both digital and software synthesizers. Hataken has been a force in the Tokyo underground scene as an electronica and ambient music composer and programmer for over a decade and has released albums as Hataken and Depth in addition to numerous collaborations. He has worked as a professional sound engineer and has had his own digital studio since 1997. Hataken has also worked in video and television production as a director and producer, Hour 2: Gunshae (TKG Music) Live Gunshae is the Panambient project of Canadian dubstep pioneer James “Kuma” Graham and renowned Oboeist and DJ, Eve Mori. Gunshae is what happens when a classically trained musician and a notorious DJ with a pentiant for improvising, jam on the sound of stuff and things. It’s molten woodwinds and Satie references. It’s a heavy drones and show tunes played by a band sitting on a veranda after too many mint julips. It’s discrete music for the wifi generation. Both acts will be playing live tomorrow night at Blim (main and 17th) @ "a little night music.." with Connect_icut. On your radio via 102.7 FM, here in Vancouver. Streaming worldwide via Co-op Radio CFRO 102.7FM 12-2 am PST 3-5 am EST 8-10 am GMT -=< Art of Beatz >=- AOB: Panambient Orchestras for the youth of tomorrow |
