Tonight on Art Of Beatz Radio: Duel Core and Toxic D
Tonight!
Hour 1: DUAL CORE & TOXIC D (Richmond, BC) 2 lads reppin Ukrainian styles from the RichCity scene, show us how they work the floor...trance, hard trance, and hard styles. Toxic D: "I never really had a huge interest in music. Only when I came to Canada did I have the opportunity to familiarize myself with different genres of music listening to radio. At that time, 94.5 fm was a strictly hip-hop/rnb station and I quite enjoyed what I heard. I got into hip-hop quite quickly. Back then I was about sixteen years old. From popular hip-hop music on radio I kept heading more towards underground and unknown artists. For me finding a song that nobody ever heard was something like finding a long forgotten treasure. At the age of 17 to 18 I began to show some interest in actually making my own hip-hop beats and writing lyrics to them. I got as far as finally being able to record some underground tracks using my PC and a USB mic. My favourite bands became Jurassic 5 and Bone Thugs and Harmony but I also started showing more and more interest in electronic music. Soon I was starting to drift away from hip-hop. I began to listen to hard trance and hardcore trance. Sooner or later I could not listen to hip-hop at all and could not write lyrics or even make hip-hop beats. My love towards hard trance led me to a new genre I never heard before which seemed a little too hard sometimes - the hardstyle. But as I kept listening to it for its amazing hooks and technological sounds I learned to handle and enjoy it. And of course now I was also beginning to DJ. Right now I keep exploring the genres unintentionally. Recently, my friend and mentor dj Eve got me into drum and bass so I’ve been hooked on it for the last couple weeks. My producing skills are finally starting to come together and sounding a little more professional now although they still got quite a bit to go. I have done several gigs in Fabric (former Sonar) Nightclub one of which was opening for Darude. Hour 2: Kuma, Lady Eve, Motomasa (AOB) An evening of only the finest music in the entire world.
