Hour 1: Lisa Delux (School of Remix) Lisa DeLux began her career as a DJ Back in 99' originating her musical roots growing up in Nelson, BC. Inspired by the vision of sharing music on a global level, the interconnectedness of human kind and the therapeutic release of dance. At the tender age of 18 she made her way into the Vancouver Underground HipHop scene DJing along side Vancouver's most aclaimed artists: MC Emotionz, Brigee.k, Kia Kadiri, Ndidi Cascade Jeff Spec, Ty C, Manic One, Oz12 and more. She has shared the stage with and has opened for: DJ Spinderella (Salt n' Pepa), Madusa (L.A), Glitch Mob (CA), Neoteric, Stinkmitt, Vynil Ritchy, Scream Club, Moka Only, Max Ulis, Self Evident, Ana Sia, Sticky Budz, Timothy wisdom to name a few.. She has played at some of Canada's Largest Music Festivals including: Shambhala Electronic Music Festival for 4 consecutive years, Sistahood Celebration, Under the Volcano, and has thrown down party rockin sets in major cities such as San Francisco, Atlanta, Seattle, Toronto, Ottawa and Calgary. She has had TV DJ appearances on Showtime's hit series "The L Word" for seasons 4, 5 and 6. CWTV's show "Reaper" and soon to be released 2009 John Cusak starred film "Hot tub time machine". Lisa has made quite a name for herself in Vancouver, holding down several residencies and spinning at some of Vancouver's hottest nightclubs: The Republic, Celebrities Nightclub, Fabric Nightclub, Canvas Lounge, The Modern, Shine, Oasis Ultra Lounge and Lick NightClub. Her diverse style delivers her crowds a bass filled, anthem laced, fresh sounding set! Mashing up multi-genres, she creates a sense of familiar connection, breaking in new grounds in the traditional ways of DJing. High energy, amazing presence and undying love & unity for all people, DeLux not only throws down a bangin' set, she really puts her whole self into the experience! Lisa is currently focusing on the production side of music creating her own sound, remixing and mashing! She is also teaching students how to DJ at "The School Of Remix" and has expanded her skills in Graphic Design and multimedia production. "Music is the high, DJing is my tool, you are the Ecstasy and together we can fly!" Hour 2: The Art Of Beatz Soundsystem (Kuma, Lady Eve, Motomasa) Bass. Don Letts: “It’s disturbing when I see kids on buses, listening to music on their phones, and it’s just going: tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, with no bass. Bass culture is Jamaica’s gift to the world and technology is, kind of, ruining that. Bass is sexy. Women respond to bass.” Kode9: “there’s a particular kind of bass sound which really fucks me off. … a kind of lowest common denominator way of getting people to move. … a complex of frequencies which works on even the shittest soundsystems.
