Pure Phunk is coming up with our next release, scheduled to hit the shelves June 13th, 2005. We're pretty excited to get this release out. "Feel it" has had the best response from any track we've done yet. Major support from some pretty huge names. So, if you like breaks, and like your breaks techy, be sure to pick this one up at On Deck in June! We love Vancouver, and we'd enjoy the support!

The Pure Phunk Recordings camp is back in action, with new two new records forthcoming in the month of June. The label has been a driving force behind the Canadian breakbeat sound, putting it on the map among the longreigning U.K. giants. It has been a great run for the young label, with releases finding favor among magazine critics and being spun by who’s who list of the breaks world, including: Icey, Plump DJ’s, Aquasky, Soul Of Man, Atomic Hooligan, Simply Jeff, Jay Cunning and more.

Feel It on June 13th. The dark and bass-heavy tune combines an eerie vocal with a driven beat. The flipside includes two additional tracks: Ear Shot and Distant Future. Ear Shot is another bass burner with a melodic flow to it and Distant Future is an ethereal tune with a deep atmospheric feel.

The Vancouver duo of Oddmud and Psidream have accomplished a lot this year, including being the first Canadians to play Breakspoll at Fabric (London) and were voted to ranks of #19 as producers and #24 as DJs worldwide! This all comes on the heels of their previous successful release Prozac Nation, which found wide acclaim as both the original and in its remix by Krafty Kuts. Influenza’s sound continues to progress with contagious drums and basslines.

Some Reviews:

Urb Magazine (USA) - This three track EP showcases the Canadian duo's versatility with a bit of tech, bassline, and progressive breaks. Feel It is a DnB-influenced bassline rocker while Ear Shot and Distant Future are more rooted in melodic tech breaks. Great stuff.

Rinse Magazine (CAN) - For their latest release, Influenza shows their diversity with a stunning 3 Track EP. The A Side "Feel It" is an absolute bassline monster unlike any on vinyl to date! An eerie vocal and some tight drum patterns all brought to a head with devastating bassline. The first track on the flip is "Distant Future", a deep and melodic tune with a great vocal hook and some really nice progression. "Ear Shot" is a slightly more melodic tune with some excellent percussion and basslines that will make people move at the right time and place.
