Do you actually plan to ever get your muddy, underproduced, shitty beats released? You're getting tips from some people that have actualy written FULL tunes and are awaitng to be released. both WOOD and DABBLER have been nice enough to share their wisdom, but you're to busy with your head up your own ass to acknowledge that. P.S. seems like your non-chincy subs are fucking garbage... hope they are still under warranty. |

i was the worst at this couple years back when i did dnb...
taking advice is hard... its like someone telling you your kid is ugly... and no matter how ugly that kid is.. you still love him however its one thing to take advice from other producers and musicians... not from dj's that sit in the pilot chair while someone else "produces" they are the ones that spit the same rhetoric over and over...it gets really tiresome. ie: you have to eq your bass kick at excatly 120hz with a gain of 3db and very tight q .. that sort of rubbish makes me wonder who is writing music and who is talking about it on forums. all this having been said and done... i didnt listen to your track... sorry couldnt be bothered , i just came here to rant and be sour cuz im fighting with my gf... aargh |

"that sort of rubbish makes me wonder who is writing music and who is talking about it on forums."
like you for instance? if what you said was a diss at the suggestions i made, you need to understand something. music is a science as much as an artform. you need to understand both aspects of it (or work with someone who understands whatever you don't -ie. Goldie and his current partner Tech Itch) in order to get ahead in a musical field. |

like you for instance?QUOTE] There is a reason why buddhafart/handojin only has 4 posts and you have 1,962!!! Think about that one!! Because I live with him I know for a fact he works very hard on music everyday all day and doesn't waiste his time posting on forums!! He is not one to brag at all, but just to let you know he was picked and trained by digi design, emagic, and steinberg among others and has worked as a freelance engineer and tech support guy in almost every studio in the lower mainland not to mention an instructor at the trebas institute. I wont have anyone grill my boyfriend sorry! Last edited by RoxyBeBe; Jun 06, 05 at 09:26 PM. |

dabler..i just realized that my post might have sounded like it was directed at you... it wasnt.. so i hope i didnt rub your rhubbarb the wrong way but i didnt intend to...for one since ive left the drum and bass community ive been working hard on exuding a good attitude towards everything wether i like it or not. my last post was the opposite of how i try to behave now seeing as i was in a bad mood when i wrote it... so nothing personal, most of what im speaking about comes from know it all's at the cubase/nuendo forums gearslutz and other audio production places.. so to keep it short and simple... i wasnt trying to take a stab at you.. or anyone else in this tread for that matter..one thing ill add however though after reading your post more carefully... i agree that technology and working with someone that understands something you dont... you have a valid point... but my point is...why would you start talking bout mixing techniques when the song is clearly unfinished. although i still havent listened.. i notice that your talking about mixing bass techniques to a song that doesnt seem to even have a prodominant bass, doesnt matter though.. i have no doubt that you know more about dnb than me.. i was never good at it in the first place and will be the first to admit that...and that is why im not a dnb hero like you
but atleast i have a good attitude and try.. apologies to anyone else who had to read my rant.. take it for what it is.. just a rant.. expressing my feelings.. you dont have to agree with me but dont dismiss my thoughts because i dont play drum and bass and not a known individual. although i never mastered dnb like psidream or matty did... i could still teach everyone something in the studio.. thats my job... being creative as a musician is what im working on now.. but as far as a mixing engineer, producer or recording engineer... i do know what im talking about.. i just dont need the pat on the back from copy'n and pasting what other ppl say |

sup sup terrence..
i think you might have misunderstood me.. i didnt say that about dabbler... in fact i skimmed past his post when reading this thread and went back to read it after the fact.. he thought i was implying that about him and got a little defensive.. i wasnt implying that at all and that is why i posted back apologizing and trying to clear things up. i know i need to learn how to express myself better on these forums as much of what i say gets misunderstood.. and often im more of a lurker and only post when im a bit t'd off at somethiing... i stumbled across this post after reading some bs over at other forums... my anger got the best of me and i posted without thinking and reading.. so again.. apologies to all... didnt mean to offend.. in-acurate sorry i hijacked your thread... roxxy.. thanks for getting my back :) thats why i love u.. and everybody else.. hello and happy reading now lets get back to the topic finally i gave a listen -edit- forgot you dont need tips Last edited by BuddhaFart; Jun 07, 05 at 02:14 AM. |
