Room 1: Hip Hop The Beatnuts Brooklyn, NYC http://www.pigam.org/home/beatnuts3.jpg Originally formed in 1989, the individual Beatnuts began their respective careers providing bangin' beats for a number of artists. The crew showcased their own mic skills beginning with 1993's EP Intoxicated Demons. With layers of jazzy beats, thick basslines, a strong Latino influence, and all-around funkiness, the trio delivers hardcore rhymes with an ample sense of humor. While mainstream success has proven elusive, the Beatnuts were and are highly respected in the hip-hop underground. Their ultra-catchy, flute-powered single "Watch Out Now" hit the charts, and the band continues to produce for artists including Mos Def and Ghostface Killah. In early 2002, they released Classic Nuts Vol. 1, compiling some of their early hits. Their new CD "Milk Me" is heating up the charts worldwide! Roc Raida New York http://musicmedia.ign.com/music/imag...1102642286.jpg Within the confines of hip-hop culture the name Roc Raida resonates with a certain amount of respect. But then again anyone lucky enough to have the title of Grandmaster attached to their name demands respect. As one of the founding members of New York's premier DJ crew The X-Ecutioners, Raida has rise to the top of a field littered with talented wax scratchers, wiki-wiki wunderkinds, and turntable terrorists. Not only that, but along with the rest of The X-Ecutioners, Raida has helped bring the fine art of beat juggling and scratching to the multitudes of the people, literally being one of the first such artists to cross over into the mainstream with the largely underground art form. While the bulk of his time has been spent focused on the work of The X-Ecutioners, Raida has managed to unveil a few solo ventures, most notably his ongoing The Adventures of Grandmaster Roc Raida DVDs, which are currently on #3. Also Featuring Def Poets Society Dj Science Room 2: House/Progressive Zêus VS J-Ling www.ecnal.net http://members.shaw.ca/potatoman/hw/zeusclose.jpg Those fortunate enough to attend the Ferry Corsten afterparty will remember the banging house beats of the "Delicious Duo". They were seen at last years Islander2004 infront of a wild crowd of over 1500 people dancing up a frenzy. After opening up the floors for such acts as John Askew , Mizz, and Phynn all over VanCity they're ready for an exclusive 4 hour set on the decks! This show will also have advance copies of their upcoming CD! 20$ Tickets Available @ Ticketmaster! No Minors! Click To Buy Tickets 3$ Highballs! 3.50$ Beers! ^ I'd use a passport if I were you. However if nothing else the birth cirtificate if you have another one with your photo on it should be o.k. as well.Second piece can be anything legal with your signature on it.
Plush is controlling the door, not the promoters of the party themselves unfortunately :p. |
