im choked about karmaloop. i ordered from them last week, and got an email from them saying 1 of the items i wanted to order is out of stock and they'd refund me. well that didnt happen. on top of that, i got charged $30 from customs through dhl shipping. im fuckin pissed off! a $125usd jacket, ends up costing me $180 cad.

i ordered the out of stock item on bombingscience.com
they seem pretty good, and are from canada.

anybody got any other suggestions?

on a side note: turntablelab.com put a $0.00 value on the packages they'd send me from the states, and then they'd slip the real invoice in with the records.
i never had to pay a penny in customs.

for karmaloop..sign up for mailing list and you get weekly passwords to save 5 bucks or something like that. (for US its for free shipping...CND its usually 5 bucks... its something)

yeah dhl gouges you and karmaloop always declares the proper value...on top of that most stuff is manufactured in china so your dinged an extra 30% duty.

most cost effective way to use karmaloop is sign up for the mailing list so you get the free shipping code (free domestic US shipping/5 bux off international)

if you order 60.00 canadian or less worth of stuff it can enter the country duty free as a gift so you might as well have it shipped right to canada (its only like 10 or 15 bux for the shipping so for me that beats taking an hour to drive to point roberts to pick up), u just have to contact dhl right away so they process the paperwork properly. karmaloop uses express dhl for small orders so theres no ancillary fees either. but if you order a bunch of stuff they'll ship dhl ground that charges like 20% in ancillary fees on top of the duty and taxes.

What I do now is order whatever I want and have it shipped to tsbshipping.com, they charge like 2.50 a box or something to hold it there for you till you pick up and since its considered domestic US it still takes the same amount of time and you dont have to pay any shipping. Just gotta get through the border.
