And for a person with millions in her account and access to the best types of treatments, she's doesn't seem like she gives a rats ass. She's in a position where she can make a difference. She just chooses not to. As for members who do experience the same issues or have family or friends with the same issues, I'm sure you are right. Addiction is a worldwide issue. All people with addictions struggle. Some need more help than others. Again, it's a choice. I guess my impression is that if you have the opportunity and status of that nature, you would respect yourself enough to not humiliate yourself and try to do some good. |

And his movies were doing well. Lets see Lohan's recent record: Dropped from the movie she is currently working on. Her last movie tanked. Her current movie better do really damn good, and she has to clean up asap. She could make it, and carrot top could revive his career as a dramatic actor. But I would be very shocked if either happened. |

I know its was an overstatement but at the same time I dont understand all the scrutiny she faces. It seems like the public has some sick fascination with her, when her travails really don't matter. I think its really a rejection of this celebrity culture that has recently evolved into a mass-media phenomena. She isn't much of a role model, I dont understand the whole public figure/role model idea anyway. Simply being a great actor/sportsman/etc dosn't mean they should be a decent human being. If people need role models they should look to their parents or family. Public figures are really just strangers that you shouldn't model your life on because they have the same problems everyone else has. thats just how i feel on the whole role model debate, I never looked up to celebrities when i was younger, unless you count gordon gekko from the movie wall street..hehehe I dont know if addicts have much of a choice, most of the time it seems like they are slaves. Alot of them end up destroying themselves despite their desire to rehabiltate themselves, we should be sympathic. |

I don't think of her as a role model at all. I think this facination thing is going to be similar to the Milli Vinilli pop decline in the 80's.
To many women actresses/singers are imploding. Ie- Brittney Spears, Nicole Richie, Amy Winehouse, Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton. GET YOUR PLAID SWEATERS GRUNGE IS COMING BACK! |
