Things have been somewhat hectic for me lately so my presence on the boards has been somewhat non-existent. I always poke my head in every few days so I apologize if I’ve missed a question buried within one of the threads. As for me, I’ll be moving downtown soon and focusing more on the site itself as well as the possibility of a weekly 2-3 hour internet radio show to replace Woot! Wednesdays. Why? So I can continue you to bring you free music, news, gossip and event info. It’s also an opportunity to reach out to those who are too young to go to 7 Alexander. Many of the dj’s on the flyer will be contacted about this.

Now... for the juicy stuff.
The subject of this thread reads "change is coming". That's exactly what many of you can expect to see in the next little while. During my extended vacation (lazy ass days), I've been creating a mental image of what I want the new site to look like. Once all the ideas are translated to Snyx we'll be ready to start making changes.

So what kind of changes will be made?
First off, the site is going to be set-up a little differently. Many of the special add-ons will be reconsidered so people won't be lost when they first register. The second thing that will be considered is content. Although this site seems to run itself, it lacks several other aspects, which I feel are important ie..realtime chat, dj profiles, mp3 downloads, photo gallery, movie clips etc

Many of you have private messaged me regarding issues you have with the site. The add-on creating the most amount of turbulence right now is the karma system. Unfortunately, some people enjoy randomly insulting others just out of pure boredom. Again, people have found the sites exploit to hurt others while remaining anonymous. Although you may be snickering right now (those of you who abuse it) we may certainly be removing it or editing the code so members can run a Karma trace (find out who sent you the nasty little message) on you. This change alone, will ultimately end that dilemma.

The next thing that will be changed is the look. We've been through a lot of changes since we first launched a year ago and now it's time to revamp the site. Nothing will be changed to decrease functionality of this site nor will the site take longer to load, so breath easy. Obviously this won't happen overnight so enjoy the current look while we hammer out all the new features, removals and renovations that will all be part of the new f&k.

Questions I've recently been asked:

Am I going to be lost once you've changed the look?
No, the new site will be very user friendly. There might be an advanced user mode option for people who are VBB/UBB masters.

Are you going to get rid of the Karma system?
Possibly. Something has to be done about it.

Is the photo gallery going to work?
Yes. I have archived picture galleries of over 10 events.

Will my post count, profile and threads stay the same?
Yes. Databases are backed up and reinstalled.

How long will the site be down?
2 weeks max.

What happens to all the troll accounts and inactive accounts?
Many of them may be deleted to make room for new options.

Will there be a dj profile section?
Yes.

Have you ever slept with a man before?
No

Are you guys coming out with a cd soon?
Yes. We're planning on 2

Will I ever be able to get a damn hoodie or piece of FK gear?
Yes. I will be sitting down with MC Hammered in the near future

I'm actually glad that something is going to be done about the whole karma system. I thought it was a nice feature at first, but like you said, people like to take advantage of it, and make those verbal abuses. The other down side of it is... is that it provokes people to post about receiving bad karma.

I don't know what you guys are planning to do about it, but an adjustment needs to be made pronto! :D:

But yeah...the karma thing was a good idea on myles' part but I think people are using it the WRONG WAY. For example I got 029485029850982 points of bad karma for saying happy birthday to aki. To who ever did that: love you too! hope you choke ok

having forums split into 'form' and 'kaos' categories doesn't really seem to make much sense, and I imagine it confuses alot of people.
