in that case, why wouldn't you just make the entire thread private? And have an automated PM send to the user linking them to it?

The point of a hey you thread is to have public debauchery. People will try the "disallow all but ____" option but it won't stick...it'll go the way of fnk chat. 4 weeks of use.

Well, its a good idea for promoters to organise things with staff. It you want to have a private thread, becuase PMs are only good for 1 on 1 discussion :p
