frank herberts' kid is finishing up the dune series.

hunters of dune takes place after chapterhouse dune. i haven't really liked the prequels but i'm thinking of picking this one up when it hits paperback.

I'm not getting my hopes up over this one being good, but then again, maybe the apple didn't fall too far from the tree.

it didn't fall very far at all. the problem was that once the apple hit the ground some asshole came along and kicked it into the rose garden.

I heard about it. In fact, I heard about this back when they were making the "house" trilogy (House Atreides, House Harkonnen, House Corrino). The thought convinced me to catch on the preqs but I still have to finish the series.

Haven't picked up Heretics yet but I'm currently 150% engrossed in Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh.

As much as I adore him as an actor, Ewan MacGregor just doesn't do the sheer beauty-yet-brokenness of Renton's mind justice.

This book is amazing.

mekim will become famous soon enough
i've read the dune series so many times i had to buy a new copy of the paperbacks for the original 6. i enjoyed the prequels but they didn't grab me the same way. i'll buy this one regardless of reviews.

i didn't hear about it, but i figure that the little shit would follow in chirstopher tolkiens footsteps.

in the butlerian jihad books they talk about the machines sending off versions of itself into the outer reaches of the universe and i bet that's what the honoured matres were fleeing from.

Agreed on the MacGregor comment, hands down. Have you read The Acid House?
