m-audio torque users

I almost bought it today, then i found out you cant record off of it.

which pretty much means i cant make any mixes. Is there a way to do it?
I've got a soundcard that runs my monitors and lets me record.

ummm I'm sure with a audio card like the sound blaster audigy you can use the "what you hear" option and then use sound forge to record it...

just connect it to your line in...

does torq run off a usb connection or does it plug into your soundcard? if it runs off of usb, there should be no need for a separate soundcard.

I record everything I play.

get a RCA Y cable, plug the RCA into 'Tape' or whatever into the back of the mixer, plug the cable into your line in (blue) connector on the back of your computer, and record it with something like Audacity (it's free.)

Me and Project1 play at my house often and record our mixes, or stream it in Shoutcast, and I have torq. So the guy is obviously a stupid asshole!

And Torq connects from USB on the unit to USB into your laptop. Don't connect it to a docking station though, it won't work.

i think i know what buddy meant... he prolly meant that your system may not be able to handle running both the torq and recording program at the same time.......

i'm having a problem where i'm getting some sort of feedback loop when i plug in my 2nd sound card but I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm running torq via a splitter to compensate for a volume issue.

You can record internally with Torq but i think you need to be running off internal mixer mode or using a midi controller/mixer.

btw, if you have a sound card that runs your monitors, you should be fine - connect torq, route your rec out line into your other sound card and record - just make sure that your line in is set to your other sound card and not conectiv.

PS - honestly, I'd wait a bit - still some bugs need to be worked out. I've been using mine and it works fine but there's a *lot* of niggling, annoying issues that make me want to switch to serato. Only thing keeping me with torq is the support for Apple Lossless (serato doesn't have this).

I'll probably buy it tomorrow, im not going to be taking this stuff anywhere. I just want to play more underground stuff.
figure torque or some sort of timecoded vinyl route would be the best. But i would love to save my mixes for long walks with my ipod.

I record just the same as if I didn't have it. My mixer outs go into my audio card.

^ you get what you pay for - torq certainly feels cheap - especially the hardware.
