Just so you know, the self help kit will get you farther then that heavy handed approach. The ministry will also tell you that that was the wrong way to go, especially if it were to come down to needing mediation.
The employment act is for the employee, not the employer. They are there to be your advocate. The self help kit has worked for me on a few occasions, and the companies I have had to use it with, they just forked over whatever they owed right away, no contest.
