Have any of you spent much time in Calgary?

Going on a spur-of-the-moment road trip tomorrow morning. Any suggestions on places to eat, things to do aside from bars/clubs, etc? I'm hoping to have a blast without stepping foot into a bar even though I wouldn't mind seeing some live shows while I'm there. I've never been there before so I'd like to hit up places that only Calgary can offer.

Well if it was summer I'd tell you to go to sundance lake but pretty much cow town fucking sucks in the end.

If you can't have fun in a city, you're just not a fun person. I can always find a good time, I'd just like to check out the highlights as well.

Sorry, but in calgary there is no such thing as fun after you have seen the scenery and all that jazz.

At least not in the part I was.

I would but I'm a sucker for a road trip. I have a buddy living in Sylvan Lake that I might go visit.

What I really want to do is check out some art galleries and maybe a jazz cafe or something. That kind of stuff.

That's cool. I can't remembers shit about Calgary because I was always going to visit family there before going to the lake. Good luck though.

I've been but I usually go from airport to wherever I sleep, other then that I spend as little time in Alberta as possible.

Yeah... Calgary sucks, I go there every 2 weeks and I hate it every time I'm there.

I usually grab a 26er of rye and pop myself in front of the hockey games for the night... at least that's what I've done lately... I've just found that 8th and 7th SW are not very good parts of town....
