How's the DNB and Dubstep scene out there? I'm really not to sure anymore. I know there are a few dnb promoters out there that are constantly throwing shows and WODNB is coming out there again soon.

eric, out here dnb is nearly completely dead...

but ill still be at WODNB at plaza cause:

a)obviously dnb will always have a soft spot in my heart
b) its at one of my fav. clubs plaza
c)basically its the only dnb show this year....

Trust me, it took a month of living in Toronto for me to realize that.

From Manitoba on to Nova Scotia it's still alive. Hell, I've got things in the works to have an event up here in Nunavut.

't'is a shame that the Vancouver scene needs CPR. considering in LA they've got proper jams going on fairly often.

I stopped going to dnb parties mainly b/c I found the main attraction seemed to be tracks with gun shots and shit when I was into listening to the pussy tunes. It was most likely a sausage fest all the time. It was no longer an adrenalin rush to party in a warehouse or a garage or anywhere on east hastings. And I really didn't know what blogs were. The only dudes I wanted to see play were either matty or dudes who couldn't get gigs for stange reasons. There was also a few times where I brought friends out who were interested in the music but found themselves isolated by so called junglists (grow up) to the point where these people would actually insult or say weird random comments to them. What happened to the scene here? Does anyone have any answers?

Yikes that's no good! Shitty to hear you had some idiots saying stupid shit to your friends. Sounds like some people with some pretty big egos! That being said there are some pretty damn talented DJs & producers from your scene as well.

Our Jungle scene down here lucky hasn't died out just yet. Nor are our junglist too strange to freak people out of coming to events. Though theres gotta be one or 2 of em that might...


Then again it's Canada right, it's always bigger & better somewhere else. Those of us that are in it though ;) know how to rock it!

Love the music, but the "culture" of it went way off into the deep end here in Van. It's been awhile since I last went to a good DnB night, but even then I noticed the sound moving more aggressive and "hardcore" then what I was initially into. Not to mention im still waiting to hear a good MC that has better things to rant about than a "Junglist Movement" to one of the smaller minority's of electronic listeners.
But im hoping it will turn around soon.

I'm going to agree with mateo on the sausage party thing. That's why dnb isn't as fun, as it used to be. I am really stoked to be going to WODB there should be *hopfully* a good sausage to pie ratio.

While my tastes in electronic music have developed significantly since I started listening to it a few years ago, drum n bass is still my favourite.

You'll still catch me at the Met listening to Tobias drop killer beats all night.
