GAMERS***umm NINTENDO WII OR PS3 OR XOBX 360 elite? your opinion

I'm totally skipping everyones responses:

Xbox 360 - damn good system, perfect for hardcore gamers, xbox live is fast, user friendly and the community is insane, the only fear about the 360 is the RROD. but purchasing a warranty can easiy solve that issue.

PS3 - Pretty good system, blu-ray player, wireless connection, free online, the system itself is sturdy, the firmware is ok, my blu ray player died and sony wanter $190 to fix it. the games are good but multiplatform. The online community is small and it's extremely slow.

the wii: What can I say about the wii? it's fantastic if you're a casual gamer, there's way too many party games, wii has a solid lineup of standalone tittles (mario, zelda, metroid), the online community is based of a code system (think game genie and no keyboard), the best possible resolution from the wii is 480p (barely hd), the system is strong. my new roomie has a wii and endless ocean.. she's well aware that i'm going to be using it a lot.

xbox comes with a 3 year warranty for RRoD, theres no need to purchase any other kind of warranty

Also, it still just strikes me as an excuse for the consumer electronics market to keep making money when dvd player sales started to slip and prices started to drop. Do we really need to refresh our home theatre every five goddamn years?

it doesn't but it totally makes an awesome game even awesomer.

You're only fooling yourself if you think graphics have no bearing. Sure it shouldn't be the focus, but good graphics will really enhance good gameplay.

i still have tons of fun playing the classics.
but games like gears of war, metal gear, and esp. racing games.. they all play very well, great GP mechanics and look damn good in HD.

Of course, the most important part of a game... is being able to play it.
That hasnt gone out the window yet... but with better looking games and good game play, it takes away from the longevity of a single player campaign.

COD and Halo 3 were retardedly short and when announced that COD was going back to its roots.. i got depressed.

If you're still playing the classics (as I stated before, many of us still do) but do not bother to see what kind of technology has been going to games... is pretty dumb.

Not just graphics wise.

game play as well, new engines, new physics, more realistic world, dx11, weather/day changes, vehicle damage, environmental damage, body damage.

Just look at Farcry 2 and fallout 3, these games are going to introduce new engines to the world and with a new engine, there's more pretty shit to look at (and blow up) and rest assure, developers are not going to ignore game play or put in shit controls.


I mean, shit.. the new street fighter is going to introduce cloth damage. that's pretty insane, very small but insane no less.

I'd say the 360. More games, the games usually look better then the ps3 cause they don't know how to programme it just yet. PS3 will take some time still to mature, when it does it will be awsome.

dx11? Holy crap. I thought 10 was pretty crazy, and current. I wish I could play Crysis at full blast on my pc. It's funny though how Quake 4 looks amazing on my pc and crysis can't even get close to that. I guess it must be the AI and physics swamping the cpu and ram.
