The guy is not going to want to stay in National League organization on the West Coast, especially not in the weakest division of the entire majors.
It's a win win situation for LA, as Boston is paying him out for the rest of the year. LA picks up a solid bat at no cost. LA is completely lacking in power numbers so picking up someone like Ramirez is going to really help them make that push out of second and catch Arizona.
Now for his contract coming up, I believe that Ramirez has can exercise options with the franchise if he chooses to stay there and they agree to terms. If not he becomes an unrestricted free agent and will most likely be moving.
