As in, go to a mountain with a compass, a long-ass piece of rope + harness (+ a couple of jumars) and don't stop till you get to the top?

Did a bunch of it in high school. Haven't been rock climbing in ages (and probably out of shape enough that I'd have to practice on a wall for a bit before starting up again) but I loved doing this. Specially around the Sooke potholes, Mt. Wells, those kinds of areas.

Not so much the climbing aspect of it. That takes more planning then what Im looking into.
More so I go get lost in the wild with a GPS just in case. Should there be an area somewhere along where you can say catch fish, then for a 5 day trip Ill take 4 days worth of food kinda deal.
More like survival camping I guess.
...
But doesnt mean we cant pack a bottle of some form of booze with us lol!

Best in BC, been meaning to check out Sombrio beach some point soon (actually I heard there's some wicked awesome waterfalls around the area to camp at if you wanna evade the crowds. No clue where but I'm all about just wandering the area).

Bring a bear banger!

It happens, I missed out on this whole summer.
But I'm thinking of going on a small trip sometime soon if anyone is interested.

Sombrio is really nice! Been there a bunch of times when I lived in Sooke. Actually, there's a lot of nice spots. China Beach is good too.

I'd love to go adventure camping. aka REAL camping. ;)

There's some rad spots up around my place actually.

Been doing some tree-work and milling up at Dominic Lake. Some good spots out there. I know the owner of the Campsite there and could get hands on a Boat to get down to the end and find a spot off the beaten path.

real nice spot. the trout are biting now too... to get up there you'll need a vehicle that won't bottom out on the dirt road though. lol
