Eric and those who know the airport economy etc

So the cool news is I managed to find some decent return flights to London. However im still rather nervous about booking so far in advance (Dec/Jan) with the chance of airlines going bankrupt. Funny enough my travel agent in June said she doubted Zoom would go bankrupt during the summer season, luckily I stuck with Airtransat.

Anyways im currently looking at flights dealing with Continental, KLM, and United (love them) and possible flights dealing with their start alliance friend Air Canada.

Im just wondering if anyone knows the down low or hears anything buzzing on the run way that I should be cautious of. Im very curious to know what Continental or KLM are like, but also a little weary of how I managed to find such a flight with United for a simular price.

Cheers!

rhia - the four bolded airlines you have mentioned have some serious staying power in the market. they have been around forever. avoid boutique airlines like zoom - which is what you are doing.

i would pay a little more for paece of mind.

I made the same comment about KLM to my mom, and she said the same thing Avana did (that they've been around FOREVER).

You should be okay.

KLM was bought by Air France a little while ago so you're fine. I'd recommend them anyways.

United isn't bad as I believe they just acquired Delta Airlines... Continental while smaller has a lot of commuter routes so they have a nice footing in that market.

Air Canada, well... it's Air Canada. They're the national Carrier and if they go out of business, you'll have a lot more to worry about than your ticket being cancelled. ;)

All decent choices. Basically the different airlines will give you the choices of which hubs and times you'd like your itinerary to be sorted around. Some airports and locations are better to arrive to than others.

Even though I fly almost exclusively with AC, they are shit. Over-priced for what little service they offer and the staff are unkind. You can't blame them though, working for such a company. I say go with KLM.
