contractor/renovation type people

i need advice on retexturing a wall.

my suite has textured walls. not a course texture but smooth. prior to renovating, i was going to remove the texture, but many of the walls are concrete. which makes it a bit harder.

i have ripped several things off of walls like cupboards and mirrors. this has damaged the wall.

while the areas are unsightly - they arent huge enough to warrant renting a spray machine for the texture compound.

have you done this before? any tips?

So what is it your wanting to do? Touch up the area's that have been damaged? Are you redoing the whole wall or just want to fix the specific area's? It also depends on what type of material it is.

no offense but this is the worst advice possible. unless you assign an extremely low value to your time and want a shitty job done it's easier/better to hire a pro. I know a couple people who do texture and could suggest them. I thought were considering getting rid of the texture all together though? for the record concrete is just as easy a surface as drywall to polish or texture. the only concern is that it isn't horrible concrete.
