Chick with the sword was obviously desperate for attention. I doubt a safety concern.

I will agree that there should have been better security but honestly I don't think it was really an issue. We had the college's security immediately available in case of incident, and besides - no amount of security guarantees your safety. It's a risk everyone takes by leaving their house.
