ME in africa?
too lazy/tired to actually write something. but i'm wide awake in my hotel in tanzania and it's really early in the morning so i thought i would entertain the folks back home with an email i sent to my buddies and family back home.
*...Anyways, i had a shitty experience at the airport in Tanzania. Nothing was waiting for me!! plus the immigration charged me 50USD for my Visa which is bullshit. anyways the taxi wanted me to pay 50 dollars to drive me to the hotel, it is far about 50 minutes but i thought that was stupid. So i kicked around with these Swedish guys who had nothing arranged also and this Italian couple whose charter bus was late. Thank God the driver was redicoulously(SP) nice and only wanted me to pay what i though was faire. I gave him 15 dollars which i later found out was even cheaper than if the hotel arranged everything. I followed Emprahms instructions but the people at Ethiopian airlines though i was crazy. GUESS WHAT THEY HAVE NO PHONE AT THEIR AIRPORT!! so for 2 hours i was pretty stressed but everything worked out. Tanzania is amazing!! Ethiopia is fun also, i went out for 2 great lunches in fantastic restaurants and decided to treat myself, hanok, and mimi to tons of food and drinks. It costed me rougly 40 birr=5 USD. So far i haven't slept much, i think since i've left vancouver 3 days ago i've logged in 7 hours in a bed, and at most 6 hours on the plane. Waiting at Heathrow in london seems like a blur, i can't believe i didn't lose my stuff, i was in such a daze WAYY to tired people were going crazy over soccer the had the game going on everywhere. Ethiopia is the same, same extremes of rich and poor, but i am having fun. Thank god Hanok is around (my eight year old cousin) what an awesome translator and he is sooo funnny leading me around town. I hope Dehab realizes that her son known addis abeba like the back of his hand. anyways it's 7:30 in the morning and i'm a little tired i haven't slept all night and day but the 8 coffees a day at Emaye's house keeps me going (my grandmom). I'm too lazy and tired right now to right a seperate email to u mom and all my friends, plus i'm being charged up the ass to use internet (and u know how cheap i am!!). anyways i'll send an email in a couple of days once i figure out my safari plans...i really want to hit up the spice islands too. i found out to take a luguxy bus to the coast costs me 15 bucks. also i'm meetings lots of people who are also in my situation so i'm sure i'll have some interesting company. on another note, i sat beside the smelliest nun on the plane ride from addis abeba to Arusha, i though i was going to gage. then the person behind me pucked, which almost made me want to puke. -hope everyone is fine at home, i think i'm going to need another vacation once i get back to Canada!! Teddy oh my email is [email protected] if u want to actually recieve the emails that make sense lol hmm i think i hold the record for furthust post on FNK |

Last night i went to the coolest club and hooked up this hot local chick. I'm pounding back heinikens like there's no tomorrow. I am hanging out with super interesting people, this dude from Dubai who's a gem dealer, tomorrow we are going to the mines to check out some stones. And two french proffesors. Last night i almost got mugged but the chick totally saved me by leading me to a "real" taxi. However the two french dudes did get mugged. This place is hella dangerous at night!! Beer here is soo cheap, about 1 buck US for a heineken or a half a liter of Tanzanian beer. I'm planning my safari for tuesday, i'm super pumped. Tanzania is so beautiful, it's not so beggar invested as Ethiopia but way more dangerous at night. Today i watched formula one racing with 2 german diamond dealers, tonight it's going to be a party to watch Euro Soccer Finals should be fun. I think i'm going to extend my trip in tanzania, it's so fun and exciting. Emprehm, the hotel owner, showed me around town WOW the UN compound for their workers is the most amazing housing development i've seen INCLUDING in canada. Also i saw some Zebras and water buffalos today, oh and some ostriches, monkeys, and alligators. Then me and Ephrem took out his summer car, which is an MR2 and ripped around the country side for a couple of hours, he drives his car like Micheal Schumacher.

haha i'm keeping shit civil on this site. i only send u the juicy stories hahaha. Ya i went on safari yesterday, went to the serengenti, lake manyara, and the ngorogoro crater which was surreal. saw tons on zebra, gnu, baffolo, elephents, lions, ostriches, but the most special!! 4 of the 10 CHEETAS in the whole national park. i almost shat myself when i saw the baby cubs, sooo cute. my driver was my fucking pscho who couldn't drive shit, our car was the size of a tank(toyota land cruiser). the drive into the crater is really steep, and me and my safari partner(dutch women who works for the national dutch opera) noticed some cows ahead on the road. instead of stopping our fucking driver tryed to squeeze through then and ended up SMOKING the damn cow in the head. I felt like shit thinking that we killed some poor masaiis cow. i think the cow survived but i wanted to strangle the driver. but he kinda hinted that if we said something we would be fucked up.
anyways going to the coast for a few days to chill. if u want to see how beautiful it is TYPE: ZANZIBAR in google then hit images. this place puts bali and fiji to shame. -teddy typing in the middle of arusha tanzania |

Internet cafes and cell phones have taken over the continent. even on my safari our driver was getting calls from his wife! today i went to the beach, and happened to stumble across the making of a tanzanian rap video. It couldn't possibly be any more stereotypical of a rap video. gold chains, tiberland boots, champane, and tons of gorgeous women with junk in the trunk. i ended up chatting with the rappers possee, i think the rappers name is bungo swali, they were pretty nice guys all about 20 years old and mouching of their friend. finally found a wicked beach where u can get half a liter of great beer for a dollar. clubbing is also fun here, but picking up girls can pretty much kill u. HIV is destroying peoples lives here, in canada i never really though to much about it, but here one mistake and it's over.
