My First DJ gig

I just got my first gig playing at LUCE Club on West Hastings this friday night! I'm playing from 10-11pm and opening up for DetN8R and WBJ. I believe it's the first night of a new club night put on by Twisted Productions.. Twisted Friday's

DSL: give us a few tips on how to get a gig. Will you get paid?

I took a demo mix down to one of the local clubs here and it was empty tonight, too much rain, and they were playing really crappy rock.

Don't think I'll try the other club - too many thugs.

i believe i got it through Twisted Productions..DetN8R has now been signed onto Twisted and was asked by Tazix to play at this club, and was also asked to find someone to open, so he chose me.

its not a difficult concept man

get yourself known? try to spread the word about yourself so maybe people will know of your existance? as in promoters, popular party kids, and just people who are willing to take the time to listen to your work and actually enjoy it

it's common sense that applies to anything in the working world.
