the craziest thing i remember about spawn is that
they took it off the best sellers list after only 10 issues, cause it was outselling even superman (up till that point, superman was the top selling comic of all time) and only those two have ever been pulled from the list. todd makes pretty much EVERY fucking toy/action figure there is, cause his toy company runs the market, he's worth over $130 million now, and he's the most successful comic artist EVER. one smart motherfucker, who took a HUGE risk to go for what he wanted! he used to be the top paid artist, doing spiderman, but quit to take a chance with his own story. now he's one of the richest men in the US.

McFarlane is a Canadian kid too... he's from Calgary I believe. He still writes and pencils for the comic but shares his duties with Greg Capullo who pretty much emulates the McFarlane art style. Sadly, they're not doing a very good job. It's a shame too because if the story was done right it could be an amzing book. Remember the 'countdown clock' that they had in the early issues? Every time Spawn used his powers the clock would decrease. We never got to find out what happened when it got to zero because they scrapped the entire idea without any notice at all.
McFarlane still runs Image Comics too..... it's the largest comic company that consists of pretty much all creator owned titles. It's basically a large market comic company for the small press writers to gain some recognition.

My guess is that the book was still selling so well that they used that to get out of a situation they really didn't want to be in anymore. I mean who would want to give up a franchise like that. Instead they've now continued it and just told the same shit over and over. Spawn sees a bum get picked on, Spawn punishes bad guy, Spawn goes back to alley and remains angry and confused. Repeat.

not a cop out, the clock is the power that malebolgia gave him to 'train' the hellspawn on earth, they all get the same amount of power, and when it's gone, they get sent back to hell to be a general in his army.
he deliberately sacrificed himself for his friend, even tho he hated him for marrying his ex wife, etc etc....hhahahah, i'm SUCH a geek
