Nice! I will have to listen in...
I was involved with the reorganization of the family and child services project (with MCFD) last year... The idea was to create seperate authorities in each region for aboriginal and non-aboriginal populations, and allow them to control how the resources are used in each region. I was specifically in charge of managing the project for the aboriginal board in the Vancouver region... it was QUITE an eye opening experiencing, seeing how things work from the inside, and learning a lot more about aboriginals of BC and Canada in general. I think more people need to be aware. -f. |

^you were apart of such a radical project! that has changed some aboriginal families for the better. hopefully, those aboriginal organizations are implementing their programs in a unique way.
it is so important to have an aboriginal perspective and voice in the school system, and in the news! the family and child services project is one accreditation of that! the weyerhauser vs. haida decision is another, in having meangingful consulting, it's gonna change the way the news is presented, and give another perspective to the public. |
