Computer Savy people.

The sound on my PC doesn't work , i've checked the speakers , connections, drivers etc....when i troubleshoot , it sais that everything is working. WTF?

I'm not even sure what happened to cause this, buddy went to listen to some music and there was nothing.

It's not the speakers because my headphones aren't working either.

Again , WTF?

i hope they're plugged in properly (which i'm assuming they are)

is it onboard sound, or do you have an actual soundcard?

Everything is plugged in properly , soundcard is "pci 128"

Went into the control panel "sounds/multimedia" all drivers are updated and everything is in working order.

Completely stumped on this one

I don't know if you got it, but what they're trying to say is check the internal volume controls, see that speaker thing in your task manager? click that and make sure your master volume is not muted.

If you have a motherboard with onboard sound, you system maybe defaulting to the onboard sound instead of your sound card. Here's how to fix that:

STEP 1
First, right click on the speaker icon in your system tray & left click on "Adjust Audio Properties"

IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SPEAKER ICON:
Open up your control panel and double click on "Sounds and Audio Devices"

IF YOUR CONTROL PANEL DOESN'T LOOK LIKE THAT:
Open up your control panel and double click on "Sounds Speech and Audio Devices"

Then Select "Sounds and Audio Devices"

STEP 2
When the audio properties dialog opens, left click on the "Audio" Tab. Then left click the pull down menu for "Default Device" and select "Creative PCI Sound". Click "OK" to apply your changes.

IS YOUR AUDIO WORKING NOW?

IF YOUR AUDIO STILL ISN'T WORKING:
Check to make sure your speakers are plugged into the right port at the back:
YOUR SPEAKERS SHOULD BE PLUGGED INTO THE GREEN PORT ON YOUR SOUND CARD:

CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOUR SPEAKERS AREN'T PLUGGED INTO YOUR ONBOARD SOUND:

last time i had sound issues (every and all sound would skip every two seconds) i had to do a complete format of my drive. everything, even partitions.

i loaded up linux first to see if it was a hardware problem or not, and everything worked fine. so windows was just sucking at life there. tried a simple format of c and reinstall, but the problem continued until formatted the entire drive.
