back country hiking is where its at... screw the grouse grind...
i would much rather do a moderate 4-7 hour hike deep into the mountains of the coastal range... Within 2.5 hours you can be at the shore of a clear blue lake and glaciers in the distance.. and the best part no one is around nobody at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is the best fuckin part... i will planning one of these hikes within the next month or so... any takers?? muhahah...... ( its least a 6 hour hike) and you have the be on the trail by 6:30 am is so worth it |

hey, I'll try seymour, AND the chief, but I want to know who'll do the grind with me. So, you guys plan your hiking trips (not sure about doing a hike that requires I get up in my spare time earlier than I have to for work), I'm down. but for now, I'm looking for anyone who's game to do the grind with me this long weekend.
and plus, if it's a little overcast, there'll be less people on the trail, and the weather won't be so hot. The when of the matter is still up in the air......whenever a bunch of people can agree to do it, basically. |

Cypress has an impressively nice hike... the vew at the very end of this (3-4 i think hour hike one way is very rewarding...)...
Rumor has it that at a certain time of the year you can pick mushrooms in the little valley between 2 peaks of the chief :) |

whoa!
well, first off, i got maybe a fifth of necessary equipment, and time is always a major factor.....this'd be a long weekend thing, and I'm not so sure many people would be willing to go that hard....I would be, but only if time permits, yeah? |

i've been going about once a week since it opened, but this week has sucked weather wise. keep in mind they close the mountain when it's really rainy, in case of a slide. |
