Bahahahahah.
Party was ok... we managed to get about 200-300 people out total... by the time my set was kicking around I had about 30-40 people dancing... they all seemed to like the tunes.
I thought my set was kinda short before DJ M came up and asked me if he and his buddy could tag... turns out I had dropped 15 records by then! So all in all, I pulled off a good set.
My Daft Punk/Tiga mashup resulted in me bumping the needle so I skipped out the second verse. I had about 2 audible screwups as far as beatmatching goes... Oh, and I accidentally pumped waaaay up the master volume (Oh... they piped it all through the booth) and then quickly kicked it down... luckily that was bar 7 of an 8 bar buildup , so I used the next 4 beats to bring back the volume to regular levels... Song kicked back in, I find myself saying "Shit. That kinda sounded like I meant to do that!"
Oh, and someone else played Get Yourself High earlier. So when I played my trick, once I had it mixed over I just killed the track right away... didn't give it much time to play... was all "WAIT A MINUTE! Someone already played this track tonight! Sorry!" then I backspun the track, lifted up the needle, put it down and replayed the rekkid on 45. That went over well.
I kinda had the last set before the sun came up, so throughout the set the scenery behind me got kinda cool.
Oh, and the stage was killer. We were playing on the back of a military-grade flatbed truck. Pretty wicked setup.
A lot of kids earlier on in the night. I think they all had cerfew about 3... by about then most of the kiddies were mostly gone and it was mainly Duncan crew though. Got a couple positive comments from people who weren't my friends though...
I didn't drop the Tiga E-talking mix.
Cerah came out from Van for it... She really liked Neil's set, wants him to play a party at the end of the summer out in Van for the dnb/breaks crowd.
All in all I had fun. Once I got on the decks I pretty much managed to actually relax and enjoy myself. Definately not as much screwing up on the recorded sets, but hey... those were practice anyways... figure out what works, what doesn't. Ultimately I think I did well.
